PHASE EIGHT – HIGHWAY INFRASTRUCTURE CONDITION WORKS UPDATE

The planned review of the Initial findings from the Phase Eight Infrastructure Investigation works took place in October 2023, with the Estate Management receiving a full report and presentation from Roadtechs. This meeting was very productive and has provided options and recommendations for future maintenance works.

A forward plan will be formulated in early 2024 with a view to commencing work in March or April of that year.

The Roadpatch MMA instant pothole repair treatment trial went very well and since the October 2023 review, the Estate Management Team have secured a supply of the material for reduced cost, emergency in-house repairs. The first of these in-house repairs was undertaken in the very wet month of November 2023, with the “repair team” being despatched within 24 hours of the carriageway defect being noted. This is very efficient and cost-effective way to deal with minor pothole repairs as they arise. Roadtechs will continue to provide their services and expertise for larger more involved planned and reactive maintenance works.

Travel survey for a new bus service to the Fairview Industrial Park

The London Borough of Havering and London Riverside BID want to hear your thoughts on travel to and from Fairview Industrial Park. They are developing a business case for TfL for a bus service from Rainham station but would like to know if this would be used by your staff.

There are two surveys: one for the company (survey 1) and one for all the employees at the company (survey 2).

Please scan the survey 2 QR code and share the link in the address bar with all your staff. If you have not submitted a company survey response, please ask an appropriate person to fill out survey 1 on behalf of the company.

LATEST REPORT FROM RENEWI

Firstly everyone from Renewi Frog Island would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy new year.

It is business as usual over the Christmas period with the exception of Christmas day, Boxing Day and New years day we are open and operational throughout.

2023 has been a year of change for us, and it is something the site has taken in their stride and we are really proud of. Our new fire suppression and detection systems are in place and working well, we received a welcome visit from the London Fire Brigade who described our systems as “class leading”.

Havering Council have changed their collections service provider to Urbaser, so far this has been a positive change. New recycling streams have been added to collection schedules such as coffee pods, textiles, vapes with plans for recycling services to be expanded further in 2024.

Repair works to the Creek Way access road have been completed with minimal disruption to our site users and ahead of schedule.

We look forward to what 2024 brings and hope next year is successful for you all.

We will continue to keep you informed of progress with any projects on site, in the meantime if you would like to contact us, you can do so on 01708 634540, or by email to Lee.Goodfellow@renewi.com
